A Trim Healthy Mama E cookie that tastes like more?!
Yes!
These 5-Ingredient Peanut Butter Banana Oatmeal Cookies (well, six ingredients if you count the pinch of salt đ ) contain almost no fat, no gluten, no dairy, no eggs, and no special ingredients, but they are perfectly sweet and chewy little gems that kids and adults alike love!
Defatted peanut flour (one of my favorite sources of protein becauseI love peanut butter flavored everything!), is an excellent source of protein in this recipe, along with the protein you find in the rolled oats.
Trim Healthy Mamaâs Defatted Peanut Flour
An energizing snack or breakfast, you can also pair these 5-Ingredient Peanut Butter Banana Oatmeal Cookies with almond milk, 0% fat Greek yogurt, low fat kefir, or an E friendly shake for even more protein if youâd like.
You definitely want ripe bananas for this recipe, since no other sweetener is called for. The riper, the better: when the yellow peel is completely speckled with brown spots, you have exactly what youâre looking for!
My 5 year-old daughter calls these âbanana muffin cookies.â They taste so much like banana bread or muffins, but instead of being a Crossover with fat from eggs and oil, these cookies are energizing E snacks that only take 5 ingredients to make, and 5 minutes to prepare!
If doyou want a Crossover (a great option for kids lunches!), these 5-Ingredient Peanut Butter Banana Oatmeal Cookies are also amazing with sugar-free chocolate chips, or chopped 85% chocolate, chopped walnuts, or shredded coconut. Just be sure to keep your add-ins to 1/4 cup or less; any more than that and your cookies wonât hold together very well.

Is there a sub for the peanut flour to make these nut free?
Reply
I also wanted to know about this, because I have a friend with a peanut allergy. She also needs gluten free, which we do with the oats, but Iâm not sure about a sub here.

These make a quick, easy e go-snack for me and the littles and itâs a way to use up all the over ripe bananas in my freezer stash. Just be sure to cook them til theyâre done so theyâre not soggy! Theyâre more like a soft granola bar, and my 3 yr old great nephew loves me to have them as a snack after pre-school.

Delicious! Thank you!

These were great, I also suggest a little sweetener, and if you grind the oats first, you will get a nicer cookie texture

I am a bit on the pregnant side so my sense of smell and taste buds have been compromised. I made this for our church gathering and kids and adults alike went back for seconds and took some with them so weâll mark that down as a success. Thanks for another winner recipe.

My friend substituted protein powder for the defatted peanut flour and said they were delicious.

Thanks I was wondering how much sweetener would be a good amount

Would this work with substituting applesauce for the bananas? We have an allergy to bananas in the house.

These are amazing, and so quick and simple to make! I made one batch to try, and they were so good that I am using the rest of my bananas to make more! They were good plain, but I topped them with some peanut butter spread made from the peanut flour, and it took them over the top! Thank you for this delicious recipe!!
