  6. Worcestershire sauce
  7. Bay leaf

  9. Cornstarch to thicken gravy at the end

A dutch oven was used on the stovetop as you see here. A medium pot could be used instead if that is all you have.

Some like to add red wine to this marinade type mixture as well. Pure comfort food I tell you, we all love this recipe.

Here is a quick step by step of how to make this over medium high heat on your stove top. There is another printable version below with nutritional values such as calories and saturated fat listed as well.

  1. Place a dutch oven or large pot on stovetop over medium heat. Add 2 tbsp olive oil. Pat beef tips dry with paper towels and then season them with salt and pepper and/or any other seasonings you like.
  2. Add meat and cook for about 5 minutes or until all sides are no longer pink.
  3. Remove tips and add garlic and cook with diced onions. Cook until softened and scrape bottom of pot to remove stuck on pieces and flavors mix together.
  4. Add tips into pot again with broth, onion soup or gravy mix, and bay leaves.
  5. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes.

Scoop our 1/2 c of hot broth out of pot and whisk with cornstarch until it is smooth. Pour back into pot and increase heat to high. If you’re a good planner and are ready to get everything set early in the morning, Crockpot beef tips are fabulous. You get a really thick gravy with it and is really hands off overall.

In less than 20 minutes flat you can enjoy the same tenderness you’d get standing at the stove for close to 40 minutes. Under high pressure it is amazing the results that are created in such a short time.
