The parent and child relationship isn’t equal and parents can’t react to their children acting out like they would react to another adult opposing them. You can just remove yourself from a conflict with an adult, but you are still responsible for your child no matter what.
However, this stepdad thought that he would teach his stepdaughter a lesson for calling him a creep by not picking her up from an event at school on a weekend and suggesting that she find another way back home.

Having started as a content creator that made articles for Bored Panda from scratch I climbed my way up to being and editor and then had team lead responsibilities added as well. So it was a pretty natural transition from writing articles and titles as well as preparing the visual part for the articles to making sure others are doing those same tasks as I did before well, answering their questions and guiding them when needed.

comments like hers could land OP in jail or on a offenders list. the mother and "child" need to know that actions have consequences.

In these crazy times, the word "creepy" can't be thrown around lightly. The girl is old enough to know this and knew she shouldn't have said it. The mother's refusal to say her actual age is concerning. So is the fact that she has a suspended license. I think that OP was right and the girl could have found a different way home. I do think that OP needs to find a better way to deal with his problems other than with alcohol. I am happy that he kicked them out. This relationship was toxic anyway.

If a teacher overheard daughter's comment and pulled her into an office to find out just how creepy stepdad is, I wouldn't trust the teen to be honest. Maybe she wants to save face, maybe she's scared to be in a situation to admit to an adult she was just being a little sh*t, maybe she doesn't like the relationship mom and OP have. I doubt mom would stick up for OP and defend him to the police. At best there'd be a scandalous reputation-destroying trial, at worst prison time for something he didn't do.

Lol. My brother's girlfriend. She's the same age as him but seriously insists she's two years younger, even though we all know the truth (and all of us are in our 40s, even including her adjusted age). It's just weird.
